Freight Database – e-freight

Large enterprises usually have an extremely heterogeneous tariff structure for increased cost efficiency. This multiplicity of tariffs and differing forwarders complicates structure lucidity. Poor decisions for freight assignment are often the result.

e-freight guarantees, as a web-based database solution for intranet and internet, that the most favourable forwarder will be quickly and dependably determined in daily freight assignment. Simple parameterization enables a high individuality to be attained, comparable to that of customized systems.

Assignment possibilities with e-freight:

  • Forwarder Selection
e-freight executes – company-wide and above and beyond system boundaries – uniform transport evaluation in real-time.
  • Sales Information System
e-freight offers a quick overview of freight cost alternatives. This information creates an ideal foundation for sales negotiations.
  • Tracking & Tracing
e-freight enables order detail inquiries via intranet and extranet.

Range of services of e-freight:

  • Simple freight costs inquiries by entering shipment data in web browser – logistic expertise is unnecessary
  • Range and level of detail of result display are freely configurable
  • Automatic forwarder screening according to coverage area, shipment type and other criteria
  • Extensive information pool for contact data or country restrictions, for example, may be stored in addition to the freight database; this ensures continuous know-how in the company, even with vacation substitutions or a change of staff.
  • Logistic cost comparison between various carriers and service types (e.g.: Express, Overnight delivery, etc.)
  • Freight calculation may be executed in any currency: charge currencies are converted to domestic currencies according to daily rates
  • Integration of various distance network modules with interactive location search
  • Highly modular freight calculation supports calculations according to former, legally determined tariffs, as well as free agreements
  • Returns detailed results – especially important for calculation checks

Web-based Freight Market – WebPublishing

LP/2 users use this up-to-date extension to write their freight orders automatically – within a specified group of forwarders and carriers – on their own homepage. Thus, the transport forwarders have an overview of the shipper’s freight demand and can bid on the freights that interest them.

Shippers and forwarders alike benefit from the faster, simplified operation sequences within the area of volatile markets and negotiable prices.

User Advantages:

  • WebPublishing requests current market values (freight market for the spot market)
  • Creates transparency of market-driven prices through effective comparability of offers
  • Telephone calls with the clients are largely eliminated, operation sequences are made simpler and more efficient through fast data exchange
  • Delivery confirmations can be created per service
  • Printing of freight documents can be executed locally via the Web
  • Lower forwarding prices, as the software is free for the forwarder (and by avoiding empty running via systematic freight selection)
  • Offsets existing customer tariffs and informs forwarders thereof automatically.

Gate Scheduler – Gate Booking System

Quick dispatching from ramps lowers freight costs. To improve coordination of incoming or outgoing vehicles, individual gates may be booked directly from the transporter over the internet, with aid of the GateScheduler. This significantly minimizes downtimes, while the need of storage personnel is equally reduced.

Effective time window management leads to substantial cost reductions for all participants in the dispatch process.

Mode of Operation:

  • Transports are set on the website through LP/2
  • The forwarder is able to see (only) his transports after logging in with his username and password
  • The forwarder books his transports into the vacant slots
  • Multiple slots may be booked for larger time requirements

User Advantages:

  • Administration of any number of locations with as many gates per location as desired
  • Size of slot may be set per gate and time
  • Configurable layout via CSS
  • Automatic view updates – all activities in storage are visible at all times
  • Enables evaluations by recording actual arrival and departure times
  • Transports may be rebooked
  • Transports outside of LP/2 may be booked in the same way

Transport orders can be compiled and processed locally, and results can be called up accordingly.

Fine-grained multi-client capability is guaranteed by a definable rule system, allowing the most diverse user groups, including customer support, external clients/retailers, forwarding agents, etc., access to information relevant to their respective needs. This renders services like shipment tracking, for example, easily attainable.

All interfaces used by the routing and scheduling system and the distance module are available as standardized web services that can be integrated in existing client portals (see TRAMPAS WebServices).

TRAMPAS WebServices

The web services for the routing and scheduling system and the distance module provide the basic functions for TRAMPAS WebClients (see TRAMPAS WebClient) and enable integration of available routing and scheduling or distance module functions via the standardized SOAP web service technology in the client’s existing web portals.

The routing and scheduling system can therefore be integrated even more effectively in existing system environments and creates, through web access, a straightforward, efficient option for local preparation and compilation of relevant order or tour data.
