TRAMPAS – Telematics and Scanning

Telematics is an integral component in the logistics of many industries. Staedtler-Logistics offers customizable and flexible connection to many telematics systems – for total control, continuous supervision and comprehensive documentation of the work flow.

Vehicle Locating by Means of GPS and Deviation Detection

On-board computer connections enable the scheduler to have the exact location of the vehicles in view at all times. Deviations of a vehicle from the planned tour are automatically recognized and reported by the system. Interactive scheduling of new transport orders (flash orders) to the best-positioned vehicle is also possible.

Electronic Order Processing

Telematics solutions contribute significantly to efficient order processing. Not only is the communication between drivers and schedulers improved, but every event is documented and can be seen by the scheduler. Customers can be notified in advance of impending delivery delays. Paper documents and time-consuming telephone calls are rendered unnecessary. Electronic confirmations to the shipper and/or consignee increase the transparency of the logistic forwarding and the level of service.

Navigation, Low Emission Vehicle Fleets, CO2 Reports

Real-time navigation with a reporting function enables the number of kilometres travelled to be monitored and optimized. Fleet operators not only reduce their fuel usage, and thus reduce their costs, but also improve their reputation regarding environmental concerns.

Loading and Unloading Scanning

Packages are checked for completeness and/or damage through connection to a scanner. If a package is missing or is damaged during transport, a notification is sent to the central system via telematics. This information is forwarded to the manufacturer through TRAMPAS. Fast reproduction can be arranged.

Further user advantages of fleet telematics:

  • Leg display and navigation
  • Supervision of vehicle assignment times
  • Supervision of driving and rest times
  • Import of actual data from the telematics system
  • Vehicle performance evaluation options
  • Context-sensitive sensor data processing (for example, load-dependent temperature monitoring)
  • Automatic invoice generation (signed, receipted deliveries)
  • Communication between driver and scheduler by means of TRAMPAS text messages (GPRS)
  • Optimized communication with customers
  • Telematics data are evaluable with the SP/2 statistics tool (several graphic visualization options)
